Crazy for Seaside.

Who publishes this

Cove Tales is crazy for the people who keep Seaside a town. We publish owner profiles and event previews from Seaside and the rest of Clatsop County — two forms, two pieces a month, no newsroom.

Opening profiles are reported from the public record: published interviews, About pages, and comments owners have already put on the record. Quotes that first appeared elsewhere are attributed. The sentences around those quotes are ours. We will sit down with owners as the magazine grows, and we will correct any fact they flag.

It is not a newsroom, not a calendar, and not a directory. Cadence is two pieces a month, operated by one person alongside other work.

The desk in the corner is how a visitor gets closer to an owner without pretending the shop is on live chat. Ask about a business we have written; we walk you into the profile. If you have something for them, we pass a note. For maps, lodging, and what is on this week, that is still the Seaside Visitors Bureau.

A guest card, later, can live on a shop’s own site so a visitor who never opened seasideor.com still gets sent to dinner — never to a rival in the same category. How that collaboration works.

Ownership disclosure

Cove Tales is published independently. The publisher also owns and operates Seaside VR. Seaside VR appears on this site as one featured business among others. Editorial decisions are not for sale. When a story is linked to Seaside VR, an owner-disclosure notice appears on the page and cannot be switched off.

Editorial policy

We publish two forms of work: owner profiles and event previews. We do not cover openings, closings, council meetings, or breaking news. Opening profiles are reported from the public record — published interviews, About pages, and on-the-record comments — until we sit down with the owner. Quotes that first appeared elsewhere are attributed. Narration is original to Cove Tales; we do not reprint another outlet’s sentences. Subjects may correct facts; they do not edit the prose.

Sponsorship policy

Sponsorship, when it exists, is labeled. Sponsors do not choose stories, assign reporters, or alter copy. Placement inventory is sold separately from editorial. The publisher may refuse a sponsor.

Corrections

If we get a fact wrong, we append a dated correction to the story and log it. We do not silently rewrite published work that readers may have cited. Send corrections via the Submit page.
